Brown Fibre
Brown fibre is obtained from fully mature coconuts where the husk is rich in lignin, giving the fibre strength and durability. The husks are soaked in water pits or slow-moving streams to swell and soften the fibre. After soaking, the long bristle fibres are separated from the mattress fibres through wet-milling. This natural fibre is resilient, capable of being twisted without breaking, and is widely used in the manufacturing of brushes, doormats, mattresses, ropes, and sacks.
🌱 Common Uses
- Retains moisture and elasticity.
- Ideal for twisted fibre production.
- Highly durable—used in mats, mattresses, and twines.
- Biodegradable and eco-friendly.
- Low impurities and dust content.
