Coir Fibre
Strong, Sustainable Fiber from Coconut Husks
At SVR Coirs, we produce high-quality Coir Fibre a natural fiber extracted from the husk of coconuts. Known for its strength, durability, and eco-friendliness, coir fibre is widely used in industries ranging from agriculture to erosion control and rope manufacturing.
Types of Coir Fibre
- Brown Fibre: Extracted from mature coconuts, it is strong, coarse, and ideal for products like mats, brushes, ropes, and mattresses.
- White Fibre: Sourced from green, immature coconuts, white fibre is softer and more flexible, used for finer applications like ropes, mats, and coir yarns.
Features
- 🌱 100% natural and biodegradable
- 🪢 High tensile strength and durability
- 💧 Excellent water retention
- 🛡️ Naturally pest-resistant
- 🌍 Eco-friendly alternative to synthetic fibers
Production Process
Brown fibres are extracted from fully mature coconuts through mechanical or manual dehusking. White fibres require prolonged soaking (retting) of green coconut husks up to 10 months before being separated. Today, advanced machinery can process up to 2,000 coconuts per hour, ensuring consistency and efficiency in fibre extraction.
